Death Star

Death Star was bred by a cannabis cultivation team known as Team Death Star, working out of Ohio in the early 2000s, crossing Sensi Star with Sour Diesel. Sensi Star, a powerful indica developed by Paradise Seeds in the Netherlands, contributes dense structure and heavy resin production, while Sour Diesel brings its signature fuel-forward pungency and a faster, clearer onset. 

Death Star Strain at a Glance

Death Star is an indica-dominant hybrid, typically around 75% indica and 25% sativa, with THC levels commonly ranging from 18% to 27%. Its dominant terpenes include myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene, contributing to a pungent aroma of jet fuel, skunk, and damp earth with a peppery, faintly citrus edge. Reported effects include a relaxing, sedating body high paired with a brief euphoric mental lift.

A Closer Look at Death Star Strain

THC on Death Star generally falls between 18% and 27%, with the wide range largely coming down to phenotype and growing conditions. The buds tend to grow dense and heavy, occasionally showing purple hues in cooler climates, and require solid airflow and humidity control during cultivation given how tightly packed the flower structure gets.

Myrcene dominates the terpene profile and is largely responsible for the strain's heavy, sedating pull, while caryophyllene adds peppery spice and limonene contributes a subtle citrus brightness that cuts through the deeper fuel and earth notes. 

Most people describe the onset as fast and clear-headed thanks to the Sour Diesel side, before a slow, full-body relaxation takes hold that can lean into deep sedation, making it a strain generally reserved for evening use. But, as always, how intensely that unfolds will depend on tolerance, dosage, and method of consumption.
