Adult-use customers can purchase up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis (or equivalent infused products) per transaction, with no state-imposed daily limit. Medical patients and caregivers may buy up to 2.5 ounces per day, with a maximum of 10 ounces per month under Michigan law.
Adult-use cannabis purchases in Michigan are subject to a 10 percent excise tax and a 6 percent sales tax. Beginning January 1, 2026, a new 24 percent wholesale tax will be added to recreational cannabis at sale from cultivator or processor to retailer. Medical cardholders continue to be exempt from these state taxes.
Prices vary depending on the product. A Cali Blaze pre-roll costs $5, while two grams of 710 Live Rosin Percy Batter can cost over $120.
