Explore cured resin concentrates with robust flavor and potency. A versatile option for concentrate lovers.

Cured resin is a concentrate made from cannabis flower that’s been dried and cured the traditional way before extraction instead of being frozen fresh off the plant. It’s the original, most common form of solvent-based extraction, using chemical solvents like butane, propane, or CO2 to pull the cannabinoids and terpenes out of cured flower.

The curing process trades away some of the lightest, more volatile terpenes along the way, which is why cured resin tends to have a deeper, more hash-like flavor compared to the brighter, fresher notes of live resin.

Types of Cured Resin We Carry

How cured resin is purged and processed after extraction determines its final texture. Here are the types of cured resin we carry across our Quality Roots dispensaries in New Jersey and Michigan:

  • Shatter: Hard and glass-like, it snaps cleanly when it’s cold. It’s one of the most stable textures, with a long shelf life and a clean, potent profile.
  • Wax and budder: Soft and opaque, these are easy to scoop with a dab tool. They are one of the most beginner-friendly textures in the cured resin lineup, forgiving to handle and easy to work with.
  • Badder: Whipped to a smooth, frosting-like consistency during purging, it handles similarly to wax but often carries a little more flavor thanks to how the terpenes are preserved during processing.
  • Crumble: Dry and brittle, crumble breaks apart easily between your fingers. It’s simple to portion and load, making it a low-mess option for those who don’t want anything sticky.
  • Sauce: Syrupy and terpene-rich, it often comes with small crystals suspended throughout. It delivers strong flavor but takes a steadier hand to work with than firmer textures.

How to Choose the Right Cured Resin Concentrate

If you’re newer to cannabis concentrates, wax or budder is the easiest place to start. Both are easy to scoop, easy to load, and don’t require much finesse. Crumble is a close second if you’d rather avoid anything sticky altogether.

Shatter is worth choosing if you want something clean, stable, and long-lasting on the shelf. It holds up well over time without losing much potency. Badder is the pick if you want that same ease of handling with a bit more flavor.

If terpene-forward flavor is your top priority, sauce delivers the most intense experience of the group, though it’s the messiest to work with, so it’s best suited for those who already have some dabbing experience under the belt.
